Privacy notice
How Sorta uses your details
Draft for legal review. Items in square brackets must be completed before this page is published.
This notice covers the Sorta waitlist for The Packing Set. It explains what we collect when you join, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet UK GDPR and PECR, the rules that apply to marketing email in the UK.
Who we are
[Legal entity name], trading as Sorta. [Registered address]. [Companies House number]. [ICO registration number, if registered]. You can reach us at hello@getsorta.store.
What we collect when you join the waitlist
- Your email address. The only thing the form asks for.
- How you found us. The campaign tags in the link you tapped (for example that it came from Instagram) and the page that sent you here.
- Your consent record. The date and time you joined, which form you used and the version of the consent wording you saw.
- A security record. Your IP address and browser type, kept to prevent abuse of the form.
- Your answer to "Where are you heading next?" only if you choose to tap one of the options.
Why we use it and on what basis
We use your email to send Sorta waitlist updates and the launch offer. The basis is your consent, given when you join. We use the source and consent record to run the waitlist responsibly and to show we had permission to email you. We use the security record under our legitimate interest in keeping the form safe.
Joining the waitlist does not place an order, reserve stock or take any payment.
Who handles it for us
- Form processing: Formspree Inc. (United States) receives what you type into the form and passes it on. [Confirm the transfer safeguard, for example the UK addendum to standard contractual clauses.]
- Customer platform and email sending: HighLevel Inc. (United States), which stores your details and sends our emails. [Confirm the transfer safeguard.]
- Hosting: [Hosting provider and region].
- Consent ledger: [Supabase, region, if enabled].
We don't sell your details and we don't share them with anyone else for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Until the launch offer ends and for [X months] afterwards, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. We keep the consent record for as long as we need to show we had permission to email you.
Unsubscribing
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email us and we'll remove you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and measurement
The site works without any non-essential cookies. When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may measure the page. Nothing in the list below loads until you choose "Allow", and you can change your mind from "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
- Essential: a browser setting that remembers your cookie choice, and a short-lived session record that lets the thank-you page know you've just joined.
- Performance (optional): [Google Analytics 4] to count visits, form views and signups.
- Advertising measurement (optional): [Meta Pixel] and [TikTok Pixel], so we can see whether our posts and ads brought people who joined. These are only loaded if you allow them and only if we have switched them on.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as a refusal and don't show the banner.
Changes
If this notice changes we'll update the date below and, where the change matters, tell you by email.
